Team Asahi is recruiting for a Business Director to join a full team of highly motivated and skilled media practitioners with a good sense of humour and fun. The Business Director across Asahi at PHD will work across the entire team guiding our strategy, planning and investment leads to develop campaigns across some of Australia's most iconic brands (Schweppes, Solo, Carlton Dry, Great Northern, Vodka Cruiser, Balter etc). This role is 2IC to the Group Business Director and helps deliver on the operational and strategic goals of this group and is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for to flex their entrepreneurial and creative muscle to solve problems, develop and motivate an experienced team and create memorable, award-winning work. Team Asahi has strong discipline leads with a Group Planning Director, Head of Investment and Strategy Director all leant in on the business.
Your day to day:
- Have knowledgeable conversations with our digital SBU partners regarding your client activity, offering detailed briefs, and providing clear case histories that align with PHD's Insight.
- Understand the motivations of each group you work with, striving to impart this knowledge to your team, and abandon the ‘one size fits all' approach to management by understanding what motivates individuals.
- Nurture the growth of your team, emphasizing the power of collaboration, and act as the supporting column, spotting pressure points and providing support where needed.
- Deliver high-quality work in line with PHD Media standards and ensure you and the team are appropriately skilled in key media trends and themes, especially digital, relevant to your clients.
- Work with the team and the wider agency to deliver client contracts and business plans, setting and meeting task expectations to achieve the best possible results.
- Be the expert at delivering inspirational ideas and services via the planning and buying teams, and make a strong effort to understand and work with the challenges of your senior clients.
- Have sufficient knowledge of all PHD's relevant digital product offerings, discussing the key benefits these can add to your clients' business, and submit campaigns into industry awards.
- Work with the General Manager to understand client needs versus desires, convey this knowledge to your team, and become the first port of call for your client when they are in need.
About you:
- Tertiary qualified, supplemented by 8-12 years of media planning & buying experience.
- You've got a strong grip on media fundamentals and strategic planning capabilities.
- There will be times when you'll need to present your work to clients. You've got the social skills to build your relationship with your clients and deliver a strong presentation.
- You notice the small things. Nothing gets by you.
- You're good with numbers and know the difference between ‘your' and ‘you're'.
- You're on time, every time.
- You run towards the fire, always ready with a solution.
- You like your eggs sunny side up and share that mentality with your team.
