Job Description
As Account Director, you will play a lead role in delivering our Performance with Integrity ambition across OMD's clients. You will lead the creation of market leading ideas for our clients. You will be highly competent in digital and traditional media channels, along with the data and technology requirements to deliver market leading work. You will challenge and develop your direct reports to enable them to be the best they can be.
This will be a Parental leave cover, working across Government departments including TAFE NSW and Taronga Zoo.
What you'll do:
- Lead the team in the use of the OMD planning process to create the media idea and implementation
- Play a key role in strategic development workshops (client and Media Owner)
- Ensure in-depth assessment of all communication options, using media research tools, delivers innovative insights
- Collaborate with and share information with all stakeholders, including external agency partners
- Ensure the reporting of competitive, consumer and market data delivers innovative and actionable insights to form the basis of future recommendations
- Present detailed communications plans to clients (strategy, implementation planning, execution, sponsorship consideration (corporate, broadcast & data partnerships) and budget management
- Monitor and report on agency contract KPIs
- Understand and drive the commercial arrangements with all your clients
- Promote additional OMD's services to clients when appropriate – understand capability, be able to pressure test relevance and know how to convert an opportunity
- Ensure account queries are rare and that any are resolved quickly and with supporting documentation
- Effective management and leadership of any direct reports
- Deliver best in class client service that builds business
What you'll need:
- Is ambitious, a team player, and who thrives in a high-performance environment
- Seeks broad experience and continued learning across all facets of media planning (traditional, digital, tech, analytics, strategy, comms planning, sponsorship)
- An experienced channel & imp planning expert (Application of strategy to execution); online and offline
- Has strong budget and financial management
- Has a desire and motivation to get under the hood of their client partners brands, macro business and marketing (Business performance, brand health, creative & media effectiveness)
- Experience using discovered insights to recommend communication initiatives
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to delivery work on time
- A passion for understanding and delivering on client business goals
- The ability to build strong client relationships and trust quickly
- Experience in managing direct reports, with a focus on their development.
- A proactive thinker who is always exploring new ways of doing things whilst respecting proven processes
- Demonstrated experience leading a team at Account Director level
