Job Description
The Performance Director leads the performance media program on Team Telstra at OMD. They set the strategic direction for the performance program each year and ensure that best in class performance planning, is thoroughly implemented across both the Activations (programmatic media) Team and Business Management Teams. The Performance Director will work closely with the Activations Director, Business Directors & Account Directors to deliver best in class results for what is now the MFA Award Winning Performance Program ‘Best Use of Performance Media, 2024'.
The Performance Director is a key consultant to Telstra's digital team, acting as a bridge for the work across agency, client's Media Team and Digital Team, building & maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure business goals, including Telstra Digital's own objectives, are achieved. The Performance Director helps to deliver Telstra's broader digital transformation objectives within the performance program in consultation with the wider OMD digital transformation community & the client.
Team Telstra has as culture of experimentation which has been driven by the Performance Director in a program we call ‘The Lab'. The Performance Director sets the vision for experimentation across the team, designs best in class experiments and ensures the wider team has capability to conduct their own experiments holding them to account in delivering this work. In addition to this, the Performance Director works in lockstep with the Senior Leadership Team to answer strategic business challenges that are set to us by Telstra. Bringing strategic smarts, performance focused thinking that can prove business results is key to delivering on this.
What you'll do:
- Maximise the use of available data and technology to better articulate media outcomes and provide incrementality in results
- Work closely with the Interactive Director to roadmap and bring to life the future of the client's data strategy
- Direct communications and implementation planning direction
- Guide the strategy and insight to ensure a seamless connection through to execution including supporting Create to build frameworks and other solutions, guiding the media tactics for a response
- Champion the digital product, remaining passionate about digital marketing and encourage engagement in the digital program
- Navigate key client relationships or politics of a client business, respecting relationships and understanding stakeholder needs
- Create communication cadences that showcase the business value being delivered from media solutions
- Regular contributions to agency POV's forums, publications and broader digital community forums
What you'll need:
- Strong understanding of the technical capabilities of media trading platforms, audience platforms, personalisation tools and measurement platforms
- Ability to monitor the market and ensure that opportunities and challenges in the broader technology landscape are forward planned
- You have deep expertise with planning, including tools and strategy
- You have a passion for understanding and delivering on client business goals
- Someone who can build strong client relationships and trust quickly
- Experience in managing direct reports, with a focus on their development.
- A proactive thinker who is always exploring new ways of doing things whilst respecting proven processes
- Up to date with relevant digital certifications across marketing and advertising technology industries
